† Green Tea: Anti Cancer Effect †

I'm not sure how true it is regarding the anti-cancer properties of green tea. But many researches and studies has shown its long term benefits in cancer prevention.

Green tea is a type of tea made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis. Everyone talks about green tea nowadays: green tea flavored ice cream, green tea StarBuck coffee, ice lemon tea with green tea, green tea cookies, green tea chewing gums, etc...

The medical journal mentioned that green tea has strong anti-oxidant properties that it would slow down development of free radicals in human body. Green tea also offers anti-carcinogenic effect. It was also shown that tea consumption is able to protect the stomach from chemical induced stomach caner.

One of the active ingredients found in green tea: EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is the main active ingredient that protects human from carcinogens. It is also said that EGCG has an anti-oxidant effect stronger than both vitamin E and C.
